The boys greated us this morning after being on the computer before the crack of dawn to tell us that it was their webkins' birthdays. "What's a webkin?" you may ask. It is a stuffed animal "pet" that you buy at the store, then log onto the webkins website and take care of online. You can buy it things, feed it and take it to the doctor by using "kinscash" that you earn playing games and quizes. It was this time last year that we poured out the piggy bank and rolled up pennies, nickles, dimes and quarters, and took the boys to buy their webkins. Ben's, a panda bear, was named Kung Fu Panda. Thomas', a bulldog, was named T-bone. I'm surprised that they've kept up with them a whole year and that they still care about them after all this time. So to celebrate we had a Webkins Birthday party that escalated as the day progressed. We had already invited our friends over to have hotdogs and go see fireworks tonight so we just added a cupcake and party theme to the whole day. OH MY GOSH, the boys were so excited. We sang to them, had cupcakes, blew out candles on each cupcake, served the webkins their pretend food and let them eat at the table with the kids. We even decorated the house with kid-created streamers. After the birthday party, we went to a local church and watched a professional fireworks show to celebrate the Fourth of July. This is a lot of celebrating in one day.
