boat ride

I forgot the camera in the car when we went on the boat ride with my dad. It was my first time riding the boat since I lived at home in high school. Wow! It was bumpy!

I'm glad we DID NOT BRING MOLLY! We tried the life jacket on her to see if she could go but decided that even though it fit and I could bring her I was not going to.

We had so much fun, but there are no pictures other than the one I took of the boat afterwards when we got back in the car. That's ok. I'll just tell you with 1000 words since I don't have a picture.

We went to cat island and walked the beach, exploring horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, an old abandoned boat (the same one as last time if you remember our October trip). Sadly there is also quite a bit of trash that the boys were able to "explore" like old crab trap styrofoam balls, tent poles, cans...

Ben found a hermit crab and was all set on adopting it as his own new friend until the legs came out and wiggled. he was terrified and put it down without another word about bring them home.

Both boys made snow angels in the sand. Yuck. Sweet but yuck. Sand everywhere.

We drank orange Chek soda. Ah memories.

We saw DOLPHINS!!!! There were probably about 6. They were rising up and down from the water I guess eating fish. They were slowly swimming in a circle and we creeped by in the boat watching until they eventually swam away.

Ben remembers everything from telivision. Then when he experiences it in real life it is like a brain explosion. He saw a program about dolphins so he kept saying "Dolphins are mammals! Dolphins are mammals!" And when the boat went across Robert's boat's wake, Ben (who had just seen a program about knee boarding) kept shouting "We're cutting the wake, Mom! Cutting the wake!!!" I'm just thinking, "how did he get this smart?"
