that was weird

Well today was exciting and exhausting. Christine woke up at 5:45 with some contractions. She stayed in bed for the next couple of hours while I got the boys dressed and off to school. Since Thomas doesn't go to school until 8:30 he got to come to work with me for a few minutes. I got a call from Christine at about 8:10 saying I need to go home now! So I packed up my things and told the folks at work what was up. I then took Thomas to his school a little early, and told them what was up. I then went up to find Christine ready to walk out the door and head toward the doctor's office. While at the office she was checked and monitored. The doctor said she was 3cm dilated and 75% effaced, much better. She sent us to the hospital since her contractions were 3 minutes apart. We met up with our doula Kelly and decided to walk around the hospital before checking in. For about the next hour and a half we walked around the hospital and got some lunch, all while have steady contractions 3 minutes apart. We decided it would be good to check in now and we got to the room about 1:00 pm. This is when the contractions seemed to come to a halt. Christine only had 2 or 3 over the next hour and a half. The doctor check again and there was no improvement. He said we could stay for a while or just go home and get some rest. We decided to come home and rest in our own bed and see what happens. As of 8:45 there have only been a few contractions here and there. Maybe some good rest and walking in the morning will get things started. We'll keep you informed. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. - Josh
