Rockin' in the New Year at the Eola

New Year's Eve had seemed to be a bust after the Isle of Capri adventure. We got to our hotel at 11:00 (yeah, we were out of that casino in half an hour including waiting for valet parking--talk about eat and run.) We found the "lounge" which is a code word for "bar." Josh wanted a few drinks and I wanted to do something besides sit in our room and watch tv. I did get a cute New Year's Eve party hat (with a feather!) and played with the Juke Box, and Josh posed with the Blue's Brothers. There was this fountain outside that had fire in it. I thought it was neat. We watched the ball drop rerun at midnight and counted down with the people there. It was fun. Then we went to our room.... After a ghost tour, in a hotel that is over 80 years old with some stories of its own probably, (thank goodness the tour guide didn't share any with us)...I was a little freaked out. I couldn't sleep with the lights off or on. I woke up with every noise. I was ready to get up the next day with the sun shining and no more spooky shadows.
