A camping we will go...

We all remember the camping trip of October 2006 don't we? Yes, the one in which Thomas burned his hand and we spent the night at the ER in Jackson. That's the one I'm talking about. Well we've gone camping without any incident 2 more times since then. Both times at Paul B Johnson State park with the motto, "If anything goes wrong, we'll just go home." This weekend we went camping again. It was wonderful. I really thing we're getting the hand of it. We're ready to venture out into a 2 night camping stay next time. We're getting sick of Paul B and would like to go somewhere else. We do have some conditions that must be met. We like to camp in a tent, but we DON'T do primitive. We need access to water and electricity. So we pull up to the RV camping spots that are nestled in a cozy spot near the woods. I have to tell you that we are not the only ones who do this. Alot of the other people are doing the same thing. We're psuedo-primitive camping. We picked a great spot this time. It was short walking distance to a small out-of-the-way peir for the boys to go fishing. It was next to the woods (really not the woods, just some trees and bushes) for them to hunt for wood for the fire as well as provide shade. It was very short walking distance to the bathroom. THAT's awsome when you have a 4 year old grabbing his butt doing a dance and saying he has to go potty NOW! It was off the main road so there weren't cars driving by, so the boys could ride their bikes. The best best best thing about this trip was the cots. We broke down and bought cots with springs and little mattress pads at walmart. This was the best night sleep that Josh and I had on any of our camping trips. We fished at the pier, grilled our dinner, build a fire, roasted marshmellows, told spooky stories, slept in the tent, rose with the sun, fished again, grilled our breakfast (after a quick trip to buy lighter fluid at the gas station---That fire didn't want to start but Josh sure showed those charcoal brickettes who was boss now didn't he) took a power nap, and went home. We were so stinky and ready to go home. We all took afternoon naps and vegged out in front of the tv when we got home.
