A camping we will go...

We went camping: our first ever family camping trip. We were having so much fun. We set up the tent. We grilled our weiners and our baked beans. We forgot the paper plates and bowls but things were looking up. We made a campfire and roasted some marshmellows. Then, Thomas touched the coat hanger that had been in the fire. We knew he burned his hand and it hurt. After sitting it in the water bucket for a minute, I dismissed it and figured it as a not so serious injury that a kiss and a hug couldn't fix. Then, he wouldn't stop crying. Finally we pried his hand open to look at it under the flashlight. It was very swollen and black, white, red, blue, purple-you name it. I called the doctor. The nurse on call (my good friend Susan) called us back, and after going over what color it was, what size it was, and what we had on hand to treat it, we decided to take him to be seen by a doctor, which meant the emergency room in Jackson. We ended up waiting in the waiting room 4 hours. It was a 2nd degree burn. The Dr. bandaged it and declared him fine, but camping was over. We'll go again one day.

The following pictures include the camping trip and just playing at home.
