Gramaw and Hannah came to visit this week. It was so busy. I can't believe how busy it was, and we didn't do anything, really. Our local library cancels story time at the library to focus on the summer reading program. This year they called on members of the community to volunteer to keep story time going. I did story time this week. I was a little intimidated by the huge crowd that showed up, but it was a success. I was driving down the road and I noticed it was Adopt a Cat month in June. That inspired my topic. I read a book about a veterinarian's day and then a book called The Good Luck Cat. It's about a cat and how he lost his nine lives. It's funny. The grand finale was when we broght out Whiskers. I walked around the circle and let all the children pet the kitten. There were also colorsheets of kittens and puppies. Ben is so loving and affectionate with Whiskers. He gets his already high voice really high and says things like "it'll be ok" or "here we go little kitty." Thomas, on the other hand, is a little rough. He has to be corrected when he picks the cat up by his neck or, like the other day, sits on the cat for the heck of it. In general he is nice to the cat, but just gets a little rough. This is a picture that I took of Hannah and my boys right before Gramaw and Hannah went back to Long Beach. This shot was taken right after their smiles were warming up and right before the batteries died in my camera. Gramaw bought the kids batman masks. This is how Thomas gets when the Batman mask goes to his head.
